This is… an opening statement.
Still thinking about what I should write for my artist’s statement! For some insane reason I was gonna start with “hoi hoi”, then I was wondering how come that seemed so familiar, then I remembered that it was Jaye’s opening line. -.- Dumb right?
Anyway, basically I think I’ll go about the statement with stuff that I’m interested in (obviously) which is… rap, grafitti, manga (!), and basketball. And maybe pink and miniskirts and hot guys…. yeah right. In conclusion, I’m not really interested in stereotypes or girly things for my coursework. I’ve given up the draw a manga book because I’m not very into that idea anymore ever since I got caught in hip-hop. Yep, so… it’ll be mainly a developmental process? Hopefully I’ll be able to steer myself to someplace by drawing research drawings, stuff for this e-portfolio, and random doodles.
The thing is, the random doodles thing is a bit hard now that one of my resolutions is to keep my worksheets clean. So far, only one physics paper is done for. Other stuff was all erased.
Stuff that I’ve been doodling now? Heh. I’m actually drawing stuff about basketball again! Last year, for some inane reason the moment I tried drawing something related to bball I’d immediately lose interest. Today I tried drawing someone battling (rap) Tried twice but twice the teacher came round so twice the stuff got erased. But I think it looked okay. In Japan, when I tried doing Chinese homework, I ended up doing graf doodles. I think I should scan them cos I seriously think that two of them are good, but it’ll be too embaressing because they’re names of people. But the most insane thing is that I’ve been drawing small 3-D cubes! About seven out of ten of my doodles are dedicated to those damned sqaure things! And it’s not like they are big or anything. They are small. Cubes within cubes, shading, and small stuff. But don’t take my word for it.
The thing is, I really should be getting to the A.S. since it’s late and I still have stuff to do.

DIE. It was my opening line when I was what? Sec1 or 2? Anyway, ‘hoihoi’ is a nice greeting.
You can do eminem on graffiti or something. Maybe you do your graffiti based on Eminem’s lyrics, like what comes to your mind and stuff. Alternatively, you could of course, do basketball! That way, for once, there might actually be an art student doing an artwork based on basketball. It’d be nice.
Man, I think you have some innate urge for doodling or something. And you doodle weird stuff! I mean seriously, who draws cubes in their spare time? Can’t you at least draw circles? Circles are more aesthetically pleasing. Cubes/squares only have balance.
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, rap had a big influence on me choosing to do graffiti (actually even thinking of it at all), so I was thinking about including Em in the stuff that I will be doing. I’ll probably use it in my research when I try to develop my own style because expressing how I feel when I listen to say, one line (because seriously one line is good enough to bowl the world over), and trying to convey the meaning of it, would be challenging but would be something that I’m interested in. So yeah, thanks for the idea. (You know, his next album’s coming out in summer, which I think is when the June holidays come by. So I had this weird thought that it would be some sort of wack inspiration for what I might do.)
Basketball? Yep I think I might steer towards that if I get a sudden long term inspiration when I’m either playing it during lunch, thinking about it, or when I’m doing research drawings (or stuff for this portfolio). And yeah it would be cool if b-ball had something to say! Remember when you said I could maybe aerosol the outdoor court? If the school permits, I think you and I could graf the court a bit. With your hybrids and my undecided theme, it’ll look a lot cooler than the netless, colour-coded court.
Maybe I can post my doodles as my idiosyncracies because you say I have an innate urge.

Yo. Nice that you’ve got a headstart somewhere.
Keep it going. I have a gut feeling that it’ll be great. Yea, me and my gut feelings. Meh.
Unlike the two of you, I can’t give great ideas. Heh. So, yea, all the best to the both of ya. Tis the beginning of greatness to come……
See ya.
